She Means Business, Yes I Do!

Do you envision yourself starting a business someday or maybe you have already started? Do you have a solution to a problem that you know will help others achieve their goals too? Do you dream of sharing your vision with the world? If you said YES to any of these questions, Carrie Green’s She Means Business book is for you!

I’m so excited to share with you some highlights from this book. The entrepreneurial roadmap that Carrie lays out aligns so perfectly with my Brand Design & Coaching program, that it completely validates all that I believe a business can be.

Let’s start with an intro, I’m giddy because I LOVE this quote:

She is brave, courageous, a real go getter. She stays positive even when times are tough.

Carrie starts off sharing with us that the absolute first step to building a successful business is to train our brain to feel positive. And to do that, you’ll want to feed yourself positive words and affirmations regularly. This has been a strategy of mine since I first started my business. I fill up daily, sometimes hourly, with positive affirmations and quotes, I listen to podcasts and audio books, that build me up and get me excited to take on new challenges and never give up. And I share positive quotes regularly in my social media because I love to read them, and I love to spread positivity.

Next she goes into what it looks like to take action, and this is where it gets into branding, yay! These are the steps that Carrie outlines and the questions she asks with each step:

  1. Write down your business mission: What’s at the heart and soul of your business? Who are you going to serve? How are you going to do it? Make it tangible- write it out and put it somewhere you will see it every day!

  2. What do you stand for? What are your beliefs and values that are at the core of your business? Write them out and explain why.

  3. Who are your audience? Do everything with your target audience in mind. You want your audience to feel like they belong to you and your brand. If you try to please everyone you won’t really resonate with anyone. Get specific so you can really touch them deep down.

  4. Define their challenge. Get to know your audience inside and out. What are their dreams, desires and fears? What does she want to achieve? What’s holding her back? What is her number one frustration and how can you help her?

  5. Make your audience fall in love with your business. Communicate your mission to them in a way that they will connect and resonate with you. Align your brand’s look and feel with your mission and your core message. How does your audience feel when they look at your brand and your message?

  6. Add value and delight them. Will this inspire and empower my audience to build an amazing business? Will this add value? Will this resonate with them? Will this create more trust?

I just love the way Carrie outlined these steps because they are in the perfect order that I discovered them for myself. I also follow a very similar order of these steps when working with my clients. Getting clear on the above questions will help you tremendously in business and in brand strategy. I love helping my clients get all of these questions answered and down on paper, they are always amazed at how clear their mind feels after.

Berkeley, who started her interior decorating business at the end of 2020, said to me at our last session together “Wow, it’s just so amazing how clear it feels to me now, I know exactly what the next steps are for my business, I don’t feel so overwhelmed with everything anymore!” That is exactly the kind of feedback that fills me up.

My mission is to inspire women entrepreneurs to dig deeper into their branding, the personality and ultimately the heart & soul of her business. I help her get super clear on her mission, what she stands for, and who her audience is before we even start designing her logo! She will walk away with a brand that aligns with her core message and the confidence she needs to apply it consistently across online platforms.

I’d love to help you dig a little deeper and get clear on your branding! Please check out my free Branding Cheat Sheet!
