What is Branding?

Ok, so what the heck is branding anyway? How do you market yourself online with confidence? The online world is swarming with information about ideal clients and niching down, about color psychology and the meaning of fonts, not to mention the hundreds of thousands of font options. Where do you possibly begin and HOW?!!!!

You can quite literally find yourself in a maze of deep rabbit holes trying to learn and explore everything that is out there, all the advice and theories, while getting more and more confused along the way. Branding isn’t about looking up the best answer to the question and applying it to your business. Branding is about defining the personality of your business! And you will not find that on a webpage or a tutorial online. Your business’s personality is probably buried deep in your head.

That’s where I come in. I’m not here to pick out some pretty colors, fonts and a nice logo then sending you on your way. Branding is SO much deeper than that. It’s about conveying feelings to the people you want to attract with your business, it’s about getting to know WHO that is exactly and how you can help them best. It’s about why you started your business, what it means to you and what your goals are. Good branding tells a story without words because good branding represents the words it embodies and to do that, you need to KNOW the words.

That’s one of the reasons I spend a good 2-3 weeks with my clients diving deep into all of the words, the meanings, the values and the mission, as well as the people they want to serve.  The reason I have such happy clients at the end of my program isn’t because I could read their mind and design exactly what they expected, it’s because I let them tell me their vision and then I interpreted it and got their feedback along the way.

Branding is an art form, and deep down, I am an artist, but I speak more than just the design, I speak the meaning behind the design. That’s what I’m passionate about, that’s what lights me up. I love helping my clients dig deep into what it all means to them and in their clarity, I can create something that represents them so well.
